About this role
Role overview A senior product leadership role responsible for shaping what gets built across a supply chain platform and, just as importantly, what is intentionally left off the roadmap. The position reports to the CEO and partners closely with engineering and the broader leadership group to convert ambiguous strategic options into a sequenced, evidence-backed plan. It is the first dedicated product seat, so the leader will define the product management function itself, not just operate one.
Responsibilities - Define and defend the product strategy, including deciding which opportunities to pursue, defer, or discontinue, and defending the financial business case behind each major bet. - Set up the customer discovery and market sensing muscle, including direct engagement with carriers and operators, competitive monitoring across freight-tech and fintech infrastructure, and validation of new product ideas before committing engineering. - Hire and lead the product management function, establishing the hiring bar, rituals, and processes from a blank slate. - Partner tightly with engineering, design, and go-to-market leadership to ship on a predictable cadence, making architecture and feasibility trade-offs together rather than handing off plans. - Embed compliance, risk, regulatory, and operational requirements into launches so products clear scrutiny before release. - Track how AI-driven disruption and industry consolidation are reshaping adjacent markets and stress-test the roadmap against those shifts.
Requirements - 8+ years in product management and strategy, including leadership of product at a company of comparable size and complexity. - Track record of building strategy from ambiguity and defending sequencing decisions with both data and judgement, including the discipline to say no as often as yes. - Background in fintech, payments, lending, factoring, transportation technology, or another transaction-heavy financial environment. - Experience with product discovery, customer research, market analysis, and evaluating opportunities through commercial value and business economics. - Strong technical fluency, able to work alongside engineering on architecture decisions without writing code directly. - Highly analytical and data-driven, with a bias toward shipping and iterating over long planning cycles. - Comfort operating at a founder-led, profitable company rather than a venture-subsidized one.
Nice to have - Familiarity with compliance and risk constraints such as KYC/KYB, lending, and payments.
Benefits and work setup - Generous PTO plus a monthly mental health day and parental leave. - Comprehensive healthcare coverage and life insurance. - 401k with company match. - Fully remote work from anywhere.
