Cyber Security Advisor

Responsibilities - Review application designs, development approaches, and technology changes for alignment with security policies and control expectations. - Identify risks in custom, cloud-based, and third-party applications, then work with owners on practical ways to address them. - Examine authentication, access control, data handling, and integration patterns for secure implementation. - Validate security documentation and supporting evidence, coordinate reviews and approvals, and track actions through completion. - Recommend suitable security controls and technologies, and build relationships that support continued security improvements.

Requirements - 3–5 years reviewing application, infrastructure, or production changes against security standards and controls. - Experience validating security evidence within governance, compliance, audit, review, or approval processes. - Experience coordinating initiatives, tracking actions, and supporting security improvement work. - Working knowledge of cloud security, DevSecOps, Zero Trust, SIEM, encryption, and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention, data loss prevention, endpoint protection, and log aggregation. - Familiarity with frameworks such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and ISO 27001/27002. - Strong analytical, communication, organization, and relationship-building skills, including the ability to translate security needs into practical guidance and balance them with business priorities.
