Role overview A project management role at a remote-first software consultancy, leading software development engagements for a roster of clients across the United States and Latin America. The position drives delivery against fixed external deadlines while coordinating multiple concurrent workstreams, distributed engineering teams, and third-party vendor dependencies in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Responsibilities - Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and resourcing across multiple concurrent software development workstreams. - Drive delivery against immovable external deadlines such as product launches and trade shows, with active critical-path and buffer management. - Maintain client dependency registers, formal risk registers, and change-control processes. - Coordinate third-party vendor dependencies including contracts, credentials, and integration timelines. - Run Agile/Scrum or Kanban teams and produce milestone or gate-based client-facing status reporting. - Translate technical concepts for non-technical clients and executives, and identify, track, and mitigate risks and dependencies.
Requirements - 5+ years of professional experience managing software development projects. - Experience delivering against fixed external deadlines with critical-path and buffer management. - Experience with formal risk registers, change-control processes, and client dependency registers. - Experience running Agile/Scrum or Kanban teams and using project tracking tools such as Jira or Asana. - Strong stakeholder management skills with experience translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences. - Substantial background working with large, complex systems and distributed engineering teams. - Bachelor's degree, ability to overlap US business hours, and a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Nice to have - PMP, CSM, or PSM certification. - Experience on projects with regulatory or compliance requirements such as legal sign-offs or statutory deadlines. - Experience with nearshore US-to-LATAM delivery teams.
