#725 Software Engineer (Lake Analytics Platform)

Role overview Join a Lake Analytics Platform team responsible for the trusted analytical architecture that moves governed data from durable storage into business decisions, internal applications, and AI products. This is a contract-focused engineering role centered on operating and extending existing platform capabilities, integrations, and self-service tooling rather than redesigning the architecture.

Responsibilities - Operate and extend existing platform capabilities including provisioning, deployment pipelines, access control, and service lifecycle management for internal tools and applications. - Maintain and extend integrations between platform services and internal systems such as CI/CD, identity and secrets management, internal APIs, and event-driven hooks. - Continue in-progress access control, data classification, and dynamic masking work on the team's Snowflake-based analytical environment, following established patterns. - Maintain and incrementally improve automation that keeps access provisioning, pipeline failure handling, and service health self-service for platform users. - Use existing telemetry, alerting, and runbooks to diagnose and resolve platform issues and participate in on-call rotation. - Document decisions and open work clearly so that returning team members can resume work with minimal context loss at contract end.

Requirements - Hands-on experience operating a cloud analytical data platform such as Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery, including access control, data masking, governance, and compute management. - Experience with containerized applications, CI/CD pipeline design (Buildkite, GitHub Actions, or similar), and deployment automation for production services. - Background building or operating internal platforms, developer tooling, or self-service infrastructure. - Comfort with REST APIs, OAuth/OIDC, webhook ingestion, secrets management, and identity or SSO patterns in a managed cloud environment. - Proficiency in Python and SQL for building and maintaining reliable platform services. - Track record ramping up quickly on an existing codebase or platform as a contractor or new hire. - Strong written communication suited to async updates and structured documentation.
