About this role
Role overview Own technical leadership and architectural direction for complex software running on autonomous platforms. The position focuses on building robust, safety-critical production systems that can influence vehicle safety behavior, control the vehicle, and expose valuable data signals. You will operate as a senior technical authority while partnering with hardware, perception, product, and other engineering teams to bring autonomy capabilities into reliable operation. The role is full-time and remote within the United States, with visa sponsorship available.
Responsibilities - Lead the design, development, and delivery of complex robotics software systems. - Set architectural direction for software that controls autonomous vehicles and changes their safety behavior. - Build or integrate interfaces that provide access to important vehicle and system data signals. - Make technical decisions across multiple engineering groups and maintain alignment on system design. - Partner with hardware, perception, and product leaders to turn autonomy goals into production software. - Mentor engineers and raise the quality, reliability, and maintainability of the robotics codebase.
Requirements - Principal-level experience designing and delivering software for robotics, autonomous vehicles, or other safety-critical systems. - Strong architectural judgment across complex, distributed, or hardware-integrated software systems. - Experience leading technical initiatives that cross organizational and disciplinary boundaries. - Ability to balance ambitious autonomy capabilities with reliability, safety, and production constraints. - Effective communication and mentoring skills for guiding engineers and influencing system-level decisions.
