Role overview

This Director of Engineering role leads the development of machine-vision capabilities that turn field observations into actionable intelligence for large-scale agricultural operations. Responsibilities

- Define and drive the technical roadmap for a machine-vision and field-intelligence engineering organization. - Lead a multidisciplinary team of data, machine learning, and robotics engineers. - Architect systems that reliably translate visual information and field data into production intelligence. - Bridge experimental work in real-world environments with scalable, high-performance cloud systems. - Build the engineering practices, culture, and organizational structure needed to scale a long-term technical vision. - Partner across disciplines to investigate difficult problems, iterate quickly, and deliver measurable customer and operational value.

Requirements

- Engineering leadership experience across multiple technical disciplines, including data, machine learning, or robotics. - Ability to set technical direction for complex systems that combine machine intelligence, software, and physical-world operations. - Strong systems thinking, with the judgment to connect field requirements to distributed cloud architecture. - Experience developing and supporting engineering teams through professional growth and organizational change. - Comfort operating in high-uncertainty, research-and-development environments where rapid experimentation is expected. - Commitment to validating ideas in real operating conditions and turning successful research into dependable products.
