About this role
Role overview Build and operate infrastructure for customer workloads across public cloud, private data centers, and isolated networks. This hands-on platform engineering role spans the delivery lifecycle, with a focus on Kubernetes operations, GitOps, infrastructure as code, and repeatable deployments in restricted environments.
Responsibilities - Design and manage AWS infrastructure and the network connections between cloud, on-premises, and isolated environments. - Run production Kubernetes clusters, handling upgrades, capacity, networking, storage, and ongoing operations. - Use GitOps workflows to manage cluster and application state, detect drift, and support progressive releases. - Maintain Helm charts and infrastructure configuration, and package applications for reproducible deployment in disconnected environments. - Build and secure delivery pipelines that promote artifacts through development, production, and continuity environments. - Provide shared platform services and operating standards for observability, incident response, logging, security, and cost management.
Requirements - At least five years in infrastructure, platform, DevOps, or SRE engineering, including three years operating Kubernetes in production. - Relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. - Hands-on AWS skills across networking, compute, storage, identity, and hybrid connectivity. - Production experience with EKS, Rancher/RKE2, or OpenShift, plus GitOps using Argo CD or Flux. - Proficiency with Helm, Kubernetes primitives and operators, and infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform. - Linux administration and scripting skills; experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
Nice to have - Experience with OpenTelemetry, centralized log analysis, service mesh, or compliance-driven environments. - Familiarity with secure base images and software supply-chain practices, or relevant Kubernetes, cloud, or platform certifications.
Benefits and work setup - Remote candidates may be considered in certain states; office locations are available in Virginia and Washington. - Full-time benefits for eligible US employees include health coverage, paid leave, retirement matching, professional development, and a choice of Mac or PC. - Government technology export rules apply; candidates must be eligible to receive required authorizations.
