About this role
Role overview Lead a high-growth payments product focused on Variable Recurring Payments (VRP) and direct-debit infrastructure in Mexico. The role combines strategic product leadership with hands-on operational ownership, working at the intersection of fintech, API platforms, and the Mexican payments ecosystem. It suits a senior product leader who thrives in fast-moving, cross-functional environments and can shape both vision and execution.
Responsibilities - Own the roadmap, strategy, and P&L-style outcomes for the Mexico payments vertical, scaling it from a successful product line into a category-leading offering. - Lead and develop the operations team, driving automation, process efficiency, and engineering-led improvements to scalability and reliability. - Partner with banks, providers, and clients to identify, scope, and validate new business opportunities in the recurring-payments space. - Run end-to-end product discovery and delivery: build MVPs, test hypotheses, and graduate winning experiments into production. - Align cross-functional stakeholders across Sales, Customer Success, Engineering, Operations, Legal, and Finance to ship coherent launches. - Use behavioral, market, and performance data to prioritize work, define requirements, and measure impact.
Requirements - 5+ years of product management experience, ideally within fintech or payments. - Hands-on familiarity with the Mexican payments ecosystem, including direct-debit and account-to-account rails. - Track record of building products or businesses from 0→1, with comfort operating in ambiguity and owning outcomes. - Strong technical foundation, with the ability to prototype, code MVPs, or collaborate deeply with engineers. - Data-obsessed approach: comfortable extracting, analyzing, and visualizing data to guide decisions. - Proven ability to lead teams, mentor people, and drive accountability while balancing multiple stakeholders.
Nice to have - Background as a Software Engineer or Data Scientist. - Experience using AI tools such as copilots or chatbots to reshape workflows or product building.
Benefits and work setup - Remote-friendly culture with offices in major Latin American hubs and at least three hours of daily team overlap. - Flexible working hours, pet-friendly environment, and wellness or fitness stipends. - Stock options, annual performance-linked bonus, health insurance, and paid birthday leave. - Training budget, laptop refresh cycle, team-building events, yearly company offsite, and extra time off tied to work anniversaries. - Hiring process includes a recruiter conversation, hiring-manager chat, take-home challenge, challenge presentation, and a meeting with founders.
