About this role
Role overview
This executive product leadership role owns the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for a mission-critical media software platform that powers news, sports, and entertainment workflows for broadcasters and media organizations. Reporting directly to the CEO, the leader will guide a transformation from a long-established, trusted provider into a modern, scalable, customer-led product company built for the next generation of broadcast and digital media distribution.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring priorities reflect customer needs, market dynamics, and long-term competitive positioning. - Lead the platform migration from on-premise infrastructure toward hybrid cloud architectures while preserving the reliability standards required for mission-critical broadcast workflows. - Champion AI-first product development, identifying where media data, workflow intelligence, and automation can be converted into new product lines and revenue streams rather than incremental feature work. - Make deliberate build-versus-buy and sequencing decisions under resource constraints, balancing innovation investment with platform stability. - Drive pricing, packaging, and business model evolution as the company transitions from perpetual licensing toward recurring revenue models. - Partner with sales, finance, engineering, and strategic customers to translate market signals into priorities that protect current revenue and unlock expansion.
Requirements
- Demonstrated executive-level product leadership with full ownership of vision, strategy, and roadmap at scale. - Hands-on experience shipping AI-driven capabilities and translating emerging technology into commercial offerings. - Track record of pricing and business model transformation, including shifts from perpetual to recurring revenue. - Technical fluency sufficient to lead a platform migration from on-premise systems toward hybrid cloud. - Strong commercial judgment and customer-facing credibility with large enterprise accounts. - Familiarity with broadcast or media industry workflows is strongly valued.
Benefits and work setup
- Base salary range of USD $170,000 to $220,000, excluding incentives where applicable. - Southern California preferred or remote within the United States, with travel as required for customer, company, and industry engagement. - Reports directly to the CEO.
