DevOps Lead, Cloud Infrastructure

Role overview A hands-on DevOps leadership role responsible for the AWS environment supporting two business-critical PHP applications on a LAMP-style stack. The position owns the platform end to end, driving improvements in availability, automation, resilience, and cost efficiency while serving as the primary escalation point for production incidents.

Responsibilities - Own the full AWS environment, including compute, networking, IAM, databases, storage, and the Cloudflare edge layer. - Improve availability, scalability, and resilience of production workloads, with monitoring, logging, and alerting as a core focus. - Plan and execute database and platform upgrades, including infrastructure-as-code standards for environment provisioning and change management. - Track and optimize AWS spend, identifying savings and keeping the bill predictable. - Apply the AWS Well-Architected Framework to assess the environment and build a prioritized improvement roadmap. - Maintain and test disaster recovery and backup plans, and serve as primary on-call for production infrastructure incidents, running post-incident reviews.

Requirements - 5+ years operating production AWS infrastructure spanning EC2, ASG, ALB, VPC, IAM, RDS/Aurora, and EBS. - Current AWS certification at Associate level or higher (Solutions Architect, CloudOps Engineer/SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer). - Production experience managing infrastructure with Terraform or AWS CDK. - Scripting ability in Python or Bash. - Linux and LAMP-stack operations experience with Ubuntu, nginx or Apache, PHP, and MySQL. - Production experience with Cloudflare for DNS, WAF, and Zero Trust Access. - Demonstrated ownership of an AWS budget with measurable cost reductions, and prior on-call responsibility for customer-facing systems.

Nice to have - AWS Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer Professional certification. - Prior hands-on experience with a Well-Architected Review. - Background in multi-tenant SaaS or e-commerce environments.
