Remote job
Sr. Developer Relations Manager
Job details
About this role
Role overview A cloud object storage provider is hiring a senior developer relations leader to define and run its developer program at a pivotal moment. The mission is to make the company's storage layer the default choice for developers and for the AI coding agents that increasingly recommend infrastructure on their behalf. This is a program-defining, individual-contributor role that coordinates existing engineering, docs, content, solutions engineering, and startup-program teams rather than building from scratch.
Responsibilities - Define what "agent-ready" storage looks like and drive execution across engineering, documentation, and content teams, including machine-readable docs, SDKs, MCP servers, and reference architectures that AI coding tools can consume. - Coordinate cross-functional teams around a unified developer strategy, aligning AI-integration engineering, docs, content, and external-facing solutions engineering toward shared adoption goals. - Build and maintain credibility in AI-builder communities on GitHub, Discord, at developer events, and across open-source projects, partnering with ecosystem players and elevating internal technical voices. - Run a tight feedback loop from the developer community back to product and engineering, surfacing adoption friction, unmet integration needs, and emerging patterns through a startup-program channel of early-stage builders. - Set program metrics and accountability, translating adoption goals into measurable outcomes and reporting progress to leadership.
Requirements - Demonstrated leadership of developer relations, developer marketing, or developer experience at a cloud infrastructure, open source, or AI tooling company, with a track record of building or significantly growing a developer program. - Working knowledge of how agentic workflows are reshaping infrastructure discovery, including opinions on what that shift means for DevRel strategy. - Technical credibility: ability to read codebases, evaluate SDKs, write a working integration, and discuss engineering tradeoffs; prior software engineering experience expected. - Comfort operating as a single contributor who amplifies impact through cross-functional relationships, external partners, and community rather than large headcount. - Strong written and verbal communication, equally fluent in crisp technical tutorials and clear executive summaries. - Existing presence in developer communities, evidenced by conference talks, open source contributions, a technical blog, or a recognized following.
Nice to have - Direct experience with model training, data processing, or generative media workflows. - Familiarity with how popular coding agents surface infrastructure recommendations and integrate with developer tooling.
Benefits and work setup - Remote position based in the US. - Base compensation range of $172,000–$215,000 plus a 20% target annual bonus and equity grants. - Family healthcare coverage including dental and vision, 401K, and an employee stock purchase program. - Flexible vacation policy, parental leave, childcare and fertility support, commuter benefits, and a learning and development budget. - MacBook Pro plus a workstation stipend provided.
