Senior Full-Stack Engineer

Role overview A consultancy is hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to deliver production software across multiple client engagements, ranging from enterprise overhauls to greenfield platforms for scaling companies. The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, cross-stack versatility, and direct contribution to architectural decisions rather than pure implementation. Engineers should expect genuine variety: some periods focused on API and backend design, others working closely with designers on product and UX problems.

Responsibilities - Own features end-to-end, from requirements through to tested, production-ready deployments, operating with minimal oversight. - Work across the stack with fluency in backend (Node.js, REST/GraphQL APIs, database design) and frontend (React or Next.js, component architecture, performance tuning). - Contribute to architecture discussions and system structure decisions, not just executing pre-defined plans. - Conduct code reviews that challenge assumptions, surface scaling risks, and improve solution quality beyond syntax checks. - Engage directly with clients during discovery and technical scoping where engineering context is needed to set realistic expectations. - Maintain internal tooling, shared component libraries, and team documentation, while identifying technical debt and proposing actionable remediation paths with cost estimates.

Requirements - Four or more years of professional experience shipping production software in a full-stack capacity, with substantive exposure to both frontend and backend systems. - Demonstrated ability to make sound technical decisions under time pressure and explain the reasoning to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Comfort managing multiple concurrent projects and own time without micromanagement. - Strong code quality instincts paired with a pragmatic focus on whether shipped work actually serves the client's business. - Genuine cross-stack comfort: deep work in backend (Node.js, REST/GraphQL APIs, database design) and frontend (React or Next.js, components, performance).

Nice to have - Prior experience in a consulting or agency environment, with an understanding of client relationships and delivery expectations.
