Role overview
A 12-week remote fellowship under the DoD SkillBridge program for active-duty service members in their final 180 days, designed as a transition pathway into a corporate cybersecurity technical support career. Fellows train alongside senior engineers, learning to triage and resolve complex platform incidents for enterprise customers. The program moves through structured phases covering platform troubleshooting, ticket ownership, and cross-team escalation.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve technical incidents across the platform, including adapters, queries, enforcement actions, gateways, and supporting infrastructure - Manage a live customer ticket queue, driving toward first-contact resolution and owning cases from intake to close - Build and maintain internal and external knowledge base articles that reduce recurring issues - Draft detailed escalation notes and coordinate with engineering, technical account management, and product teams on deeper investigations
Requirements
- Active-duty status approved for SkillBridge participation with 180 days or fewer remaining in service - Operational background in military IT, communications (COMSEC, G6/S6/N6/A6), cyber operations, or a related technical domain - Working knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, and firewall fundamentals, plus experience supporting enterprise IT systems or mission-critical infrastructure - Clear written and verbal communication of technical issues to varied audiences
Nice to have
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, AWS Cloud Practitioner, CCNA, or formal military technical training - Hands-on Linux shell, Windows administration, Active Directory, or VMware experience - Familiarity with log analysis, endpoint security, or enterprise network monitoring tools - Ticketing or ITSM platform experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities - Exposure to RESTful APIs, cloud environments, or scripting languages such as Python
