About this role

Role overview A digital safety company is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to serve as a key technical voice on its AI Intelligence Platform, which unifies organizational data and bridges AI agents with that data under strict security and privacy guarantees. The platform turns threat intelligence into timely, personalized insights that protect millions of customers and their families. This is a deeply technical, hands-on role focused on owning complex initiatives end to end, from architecture through production, in Python and TypeScript on AWS.

Responsibilities - Design, document, and drive the architecture for core platform components, balancing scalability, reliability, security, and cost. - Own ambiguous initiatives from design through deployment and iteration, translating fuzzy product goals into clear, scalable technical requirements. - Build the foundation that unifies company data into a trusted, high-quality substrate for generating intelligence. - Architect how AI agents access and reason over sensitive data, enforcing least-privilege access, strong isolation, and privacy guarantees. - Develop systems that transform intelligence into personalized insights and protective actions for end users. - Make and defend high-leverage technology choices across the stack, and champion engineering best practices for security, privacy, observability, testing, and operational excellence. - Mentor other engineers on design challenges, performance tuning, and system reliability.

Requirements - 5-8+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping complex, large-scale distributed systems. - Demonstrated ability to own systems end to end, from architecture through production operation. - Strong grasp of software design fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and distributed-systems principles. - Deep cloud expertise with sound judgment about when to use serverless functions vs. containerized services, relational vs. NoSQL stores, and how to apply caches, queues, and data pipelines. - Hands-on experience building systems that handle sensitive or regulated data, treating security and privacy as first-class design constraints. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to varied audiences and build alignment across teams. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have - Production experience with AI or LLM-powered systems, such as agents, retrieval pipelines, evaluation, or LLM observability. - Background in security, privacy engineering, or trust and safety. - Experience with large-scale data platforms and data-intensive systems. - Familiarity with AWS and Infrastructure as Code.

Benefits and work setup - Remote-friendly role. - Inclusive workplace committed to equal employment opportunity and accessible hiring and accommodation processes.
