Principal Cloud Architect

Role overview Own the technical vision and architecture for shared, multi-tenant cloud platforms that deliver managed services to enterprise clients. The role centers on designing and validating Azure-based solutions, decomposing complex initiatives into scoped work for engineering teams, and partnering with business and account stakeholders to ensure delivered platforms meet real client and operational needs.

Responsibilities - Design and validate Azure-based solutions, breaking down complex initiatives into scoped, time-boxed spikes that engineering teams can execute independently - Set architectural direction for shared multi-tenant platforms, prioritizing reliability, security, and scalability - Partner with cross-functional and account teams to surface technical considerations early and shape what gets built and why - Strengthen platform observability through patterns built on Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and KQL - Drive adoption of infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting practices to improve delivery quality and team velocity - Mentor engineers on Azure architecture best practices and establish reusable architectural patterns across the platform

Requirements - 8+ years of cloud engineering and architecture experience - Deep, hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including its monitoring, automation, and platform services - Demonstrated ability to break down complex, ambiguous work into scoped, delegable pieces and lead delivery through others - Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (Bicep or Terraform) and scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python - Excellent written and spoken English with the confidence to engage and influence business-facing and cross-functional conversations - Pattern-oriented mindset with working knowledge of Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and KQL

Nice to have - Experience supporting multiple clients or tenants from a shared platform (MSP or multi-tenant SaaS background) - Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks relevant to managed cloud services, including Microsoft Sentinel - Experience with CI/CD pipelines, ideally Azure DevOps - Relevant Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert
