About this role
Role overview This Principal Program Manager role sits within the Client Engagement function of a company that builds software for large insurance carriers, focused on modernizing claims processing. The role turns complex client priorities into clear, executable programs that span Product, Engineering, and external stakeholders, owning the operating rhythm from kickoff through long-term adoption. P&C insurance experience is welcomed but not required; the priority is someone who can learn the domain quickly and earn credibility with enterprise customers.
Responsibilities - Translate client priorities into scoped initiatives with clear owners, timelines, risks, and next steps. - Drive high-stakes carrier projects from kickoff through launch, including dependency management, launch readiness, and stakeholder alignment. - Build intake, tracking, status, and escalation rhythms that help Client Engagement scale consistently. - Surface risks and tradeoffs early by framing options and routing decisions before they become client-facing problems. - Act as a translator between carrier feedback and internal Product/Engineering constraints, building client confidence through clear communication. - Identify patterns across multiple carriers and turn them into process improvements or scalable programs. - Manage RAID logs, dependency maps, launch plans, and critical paths across multiple concurrent initiatives without over-process. - Use AI tools to accelerate project planning, feedback synthesis, documentation, and risk identification.
Requirements - Significant experience leading complex, cross-functional programs involving enterprise customers. - Comfort working technical-adjacent: able to understand product and engineering constraints well enough to scope honestly and ask sharp questions. - Ability to create structure in ambiguous situations, identifying blockers, owners, and required decisions. - Track record of balancing urgency with disciplined basics: owners, dates, risks, dependencies, decisions, and follow-through. - Strong influencing skills and a reputation for being clear, trusted, and relentlessly organized. - Willingness to learn insurance workflows, carrier operations, and the client context behind each request.
Nice to have - Prior P&C insurance industry experience or familiarity with claims processing operations. - Experience applying AI tools to program management, documentation, or client communication.
Benefits and work setup - Competitive salary plus equity for all employees. - Platinum medical, dental, and vision coverage; life and disability insurance. - Unlimited PTO, paid holidays, and parental leave. - 401(k) with a 3% employer contribution regardless of employee contribution. - Remote work with home-office stipend, twice-weekly lunch, and regular in-person team events.
