About this role
Role overview Provide technical leadership and operational ownership across modular, edge, and distributed data center environments as a senior member of the Network Operations Center. The role combines hands-on troubleshooting of physical and network infrastructure with incident command, mentoring of L1 technicians, and continuous improvement of runbooks, dashboards, and tooling.
Responsibilities - Act as senior technical lead on shift, guiding L1 NOC technicians, owning shift handovers and operational prioritization, and mentoring junior staff. - Serve as primary escalation point and Incident Commander for medium to high-severity events, owning detection through resolution and producing executive-ready communications. - Drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and MTTR improvements across recurring issues. - Monitor and troubleshoot physical infrastructure using PLC, BMS, and DCIM platforms, performing health checks on UPS, PDUs, generators, and CRAC/CRAH systems and coordinating maintenance and remote hands. - Perform L2/L3 networking troubleshooting across switches, routers, firewalls, VLANs, IP addressing, MTU, routing, fiber/copper connectivity, optics, redundancy paths, VPNs, and secure remote access. - Own operational runbooks, SOPs, and escalation procedures, improving alerting quality, dashboards, and noise reduction across Grafana, Zenduty, ServiceNow, Jira, and SolarWinds. - Partner with Engineering and Product on change planning, execution, and post-change validation, identifying operational gaps and driving continuous improvement.
Requirements - 7+ years of experience in NOC, data center, or infrastructure operations. - Demonstrated experience leading incidents or technical shifts. - Hands-on experience with DCIM/BMS platforms such as Distech, Schneider, or RadixIOT. - Advanced L2/L3 networking troubleshooting skills and ability to interpret electrical one-lines and network diagrams. - Solid understanding of power, cooling, and monitoring systems. - Comfort with shift work and on-call rotations.
Nice to have - Certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA, CDCTP, or CDCP. - Experience with edge connectivity like VSAT, LTE/5G, or Starlink, plus Linux/Windows server familiarity and basic Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting.
