About this role

Role overview Own the structural thread for modular data center deployments across diverse seismic, wind, snow, and soil conditions worldwide. The work focuses on converting bespoke per-site structural work into a repeatable SKU through template designs for platforms, ISO container connections, foundations, anchorage, and piping supports, while serving as the structural bridge between internal product engineering and external fabricators, contractors, and certifying engineers.

Responsibilities - Identify, vet, and liaise with structural engineering vendors and local certifying engineers, confirming compliance with codes such as NCC, IBC, and equivalents. - Lead early-stage structural due diligence for new global sites, evaluating seismic, wind, snow, and soil conditions and flagging certification risk. - Develop and maintain template structural designs for modular data center components that hold up across the widest range of site conditions. - Personally perform structural analysis and design for new products and first-of-a-kind site conditions in-house before jurisdictional stamping. - Act as the structural point of contact linking product engineering with fabricators, general contractors, and local structural and civil engineers, reviewing shop drawings, anchorage, and equipment integration details. - Build and maintain structural requirement guidelines, site-readiness checklists, and certification workflows by geography, providing final operational readiness sign-off.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and a PE/SE license or international equivalent. - 5–7 years of structural analysis and design experience on steel and reinforced concrete structures, including foundations, platforms, and equipment anchorage for industrial or mission-critical facilities. - Working knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI and comparable international codes including seismic, wind, snow, and soil loading. - Comfort defining the playbook independently rather than inheriting one. - Willingness to travel approximately 20–30% to project sites, fabrication facilities, and construction locations worldwide.

Nice to have - Prior experience with modular, prefabricated, or ISO-container-based construction for data centers or mission-critical facilities. - Familiarity with heavy equipment anchorage (generators, transformers, chillers), pre-engineered metal buildings, and raised platform or foundation systems. - Background standing up design standards or governance for a growing portfolio across multiple regions.

Benefits and work setup - Remote role with roughly 20–30% global travel. - Competitive base salary with geographic tiers, equity, subsidized medical/dental/vision, HSA/FSA/DCFSAs, 401(k) and Roth 401(k), unlimited PTO, and 14 paid holidays per year.
