Role overview Serve as a senior member of a quality assurance practice, embedding into project teams across the delivery lifecycle to set QA direction or act as the primary hands-on tester, depending on engagement needs. The role blends manual and automated testing with practice-level influence, including evaluation of AI-assisted testing approaches and partnership with QA leadership to evolve team-wide processes.
Responsibilities - Own test strategy, risk-based planning, and exit criteria for assigned projects, whether acting in QA oversight or as the primary engineer on the engagement - Lead functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing, and guide automated test coverage across projects - Translate requirements, acceptance criteria, and Figma designs into clear, testable scenarios in partnership with business analysts and developers - Drive defect triage, including severity and priority assignment, reproduction quality, verification, and regression checks, with thorough documentation of environment details and expected versus actual results - Coordinate UAT planning with business analysts, PMO, and client stakeholders, and support go-live readiness reporting - Contribute to reusable QA assets such as templates, regression suites, automation patterns, and playbooks, and mentor QA engineers through pairing and review of test artifacts
Requirements - Five or more years of QA and manual testing experience across the full software development lifecycle for public-facing web applications, including validation across desktop and mobile, multiple browsers, and responsive breakpoints - Three or more years of automated testing experience with Cypress, Playwright, or comparable tools, including test architecture design, reusable utilities, test data strategy, CI/CD integration, and script authoring for functional and integration coverage - Three or more years validating API integrations through Swagger, Postman, or automated API frameworks - Demonstrated comfort using AI tools to support test case generation, test data creation, code review, or other QA workflows - Prior experience mentoring QA team members or providing technical QA leadership, with strong communication, customer service orientation, and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects under pressure - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in business, management information systems, or accounting
Nice to have - Working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS sufficient to debug UI issues, analyze DOM behavior, and support automated test development, with familiarity with React, Next.js, or similar modern frameworks - Experience evaluating or piloting AI-powered QA tools such as test generation, self-healing automation, or visual regression - Experience contributing to or authoring QA playbooks, templates, or team-wide standards - CMS testing experience on platforms like Sitecore, Optimizely, ContentStack, or Contentful - ADA and WCAG 2.0/2.1 Level AA compliance testing experience
