Data Scientist

Role overview Apply data science and advanced analytics to complex business and operational challenges in a federal environment. The work spans analysis, statistical modeling, machine learning, data preparation, and communication of findings, with collaboration across technical teams, program stakeholders, and leadership.

Responsibilities - Provide subject matter expertise for data science, analytics, and machine learning initiatives. - Analyze complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and actionable findings. - Recommend analytical approaches, statistical models, and data-driven solutions for program needs. - Support data preparation, transformation, modeling, and visualization. - Work with stakeholders and technical teams to define analytical requirements and deliver reports, dashboards, documentation, and other outputs. - Advise on data quality and analytical practices, and contribute to modernization efforts involving analytics and automation.

Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, information technology, or a related technical field. - At least 10 years of experience in IT, analytics, data science, or a related technical environment, including four years supporting enterprise-scale initiatives. - Demonstrated experience with statistical analysis, predictive modeling, machine learning, or other advanced analytical work. - Experience working with large, complex, or disparate datasets. - Proficiency with Python, R, SQL, or comparable analysis and programming tools. - Ability to visualize results, explain complex findings clearly, and collaborate across technical, business, and program teams. - Willingness to undergo a government background investigation.

Nice to have - Experience with federal programs, cloud analytics platforms, or operational machine learning deployments. - Familiarity with AI, natural language processing, data governance, data quality, or enterprise data management.
