Forward Deployed Engineer

Role overview Work alongside client teams to understand their workflows, data, and technical constraints, then build AI-powered solutions that fit their environment. The role combines hands-on software engineering with technical consulting, spanning early prototypes through secure deployment and production support.

Responsibilities - Map client processes and data to identify practical opportunities for AI. - Prototype and productionize LLM applications, agents, and integrations within existing systems. - Manage customer-environment deployments, including data pipelines, evaluations, security reviews, and rollout. - Align business and engineering stakeholders on focused scope and measurable outcomes. - Apply lessons from client work to improve internal tools, playbooks, and reusable components.

Requirements - At least three years of software engineering experience; client-facing or startup work is useful preparation. - Strong Python and/or TypeScript skills and hands-on experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, or open models. - Practical knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation, tool use, model evaluations, and third-party APIs or data sources. - Strong communication skills, including the ability to lead workshops, write clear proposals, and troubleshoot production systems.

Nice to have - Experience as a solutions engineer, consultant, or founding engineer. - Familiarity with enterprise needs such as single sign-on, data residency, compliance, and security reviews. - Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site project kickoffs.
