System Engineer

Role overview This Acquisition Systems Engineer position supports a national security program delivering automated capabilities that detect and characterize strategic activity, generate actionable intelligence tips, and provide global situational awareness. The role serves as a SETA (Systems Engineering & Technical Assistance) contractor embedded with a government Ground Enterprise Directorate, bridging government technical and contracts staff with development teams across the program lifecycle.

Responsibilities - Develop acquisition strategies and supporting documentation in coordination with government technical and contracting personnel to enable program development and execution. - Facilitate prototype acquisition planning, solicitation, evaluation, award, and execution across IDIQ Task Orders, Broad Agency Announcements, Other Transaction Agreements, and Commercial Solutions Openings. - Draft core acquisition artifacts including Statements of Work, Contract Data Requirements Lists, In-Scope Determinations, and proposal evaluation criteria. - Support the government customer in tracking program financial execution and multi-year planning. - Partner with other program offices to transition prototype software into baseline programs for long-term operations and maintenance support. - Provide acquisition advisory input during technical and cost evaluations of vendor proposals, document requirements with technical staff, track progress against blockers, and integrate SAFe Agile processes into program activities.

Requirements - Technical degree with 10–12 years of experience (BS/BA), 8–10 years (MS/MA), or 5–7 years (PhD). - Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, with ability to maintain. - Prior Intelligence Community work history. - Minimum of five years supporting DoD or IC programs. - Demonstrated individual contributor performance delivering capabilities across integrated customer and contractor teams.

Nice to have - Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification in Program Management. - Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Benefits and work setup Compensation ranges from approximately $135,036 to $234,801, with final figures influenced by contract wage determinations, relevant experience, role-aligned competencies, geographic location, education, certifications, and federal contract labor categories.
