Role overview
A Software QA/Test Engineer position focused on enterprise business applications, blending hands-on testing with quality assurance inside an Agile environment. The role involves designing test procedures, executing multiple test types, and maintaining documentation across the software development lifecycle. It is a hybrid position based out of Middletown, RI.
Responsibilities
- Analyze test requirements, develop test procedures, and support interface testing for enterprise business applications - Perform unit testing and software/system integration testing, while helping create and maintain system and procedural documentation - Participate actively in Agile Scrum ceremonies and contribute to peer reviews of requirements, test cases, and related documentation - Execute automated, manual, regression, security, and performance test cases as appropriate for each release - Identify functional defects against established requirements, document clear bug reports, and validate fixes once they are resolved - Review test results, compile metrics, and recommend follow-up actions based on observed patterns
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field - Two to five years of QA/Test engineering experience - Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance - Strong problem-solving, application testing, and debugging capabilities - Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with remote teammates - Self-directed work style with the capacity to prioritize tasks independently and within a team

- Prior experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs or projects
