About this role

Role overview

Senior aerospace engineering role focused on flight-mechanics analysis and independent validation and verification for national-security space launch missions. The work involves simulating launch-vehicle flight from liftoff through payload separation, assessing trajectory and Guidance, Navigation, and Control performance, and communicating technical findings during mission-integration activities. Full-time on-site work in Brook Park, Ohio, or Greenwood Village, Colorado, is preferred, with possible hybrid or remote exceptions.

Responsibilities

- Develop environmental and vehicle models and connect them with flight software for nominal and Monte Carlo dispersed trajectory simulations. - Process simulation outputs and perform orbital, vehicle-dynamics, GNC, trajectory, and performance analyses against mission requirements. - Coordinate with launch-service-provider personnel to resolve technical issues during mission integration. - Participate in technical reviews and discipline-focused analysis working groups. - Document, explain, and present validation and verification activities, analyses, and conclusions. - Provide technical support and analysis to program leadership as needed.

Requirements

- Approximately 10–12 years of applicable experience with a bachelor’s degree, 8–10 years with a master’s degree, or 5–7 years with a doctorate. - Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance. - Strong technical understanding of orbital mechanics, vehicle dynamics, and Guidance, Navigation, and Control. - Advanced capability in model development, computer programming, simulation, and data analysis. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Familiarity with C/C++, Fortran, Ada, and MATLAB.
