Solutions Platform Engineer

Role overview A platform engineering role focused on building and operating the technical backbone that supports a Solutions and presales organization. The position owns demo environments end to end, builds self-service sandboxes for partner teams, and graduates field-built prototypes into production-ready systems. It is highly cross-functional, sitting between Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Product Engineering, and DevOps.

Responsibilities - Manage the full lifecycle of demo environments, including instance provisioning, seeded datasets, multi-product reference configurations, and scheduled teardown and refresh cycles. - Build and maintain self-service sandbox environments that allow partner teams to run product demonstrations independently. - Design and ship automation that reduces manual technical work for Sales Engineering and Solutions Architecture, with a focus on shortening time-to-demo. - Curate the technical knowledge base used to answer security questionnaires, RFPs, and trust center inquiries. - Run inventory extracts and pricing pulls that support consolidation and instance optimization assessments. - Take ownership of field-built prototypes that are ready for production, including code review, hosting, deployment, and ongoing support models, partnering with Engineering and DevOps. - Define and enforce graduation criteria for prototypes moving from pilot to production, ensuring clear ownership, hosting, and support. - Monitor demo environment health, provisioning performance, and capacity, proactively resolving bottlenecks.

Requirements - Three or more years of hands-on experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or systems engineering, ideally supporting a sales engineering, solutions, or presales organization. - Practical experience administering and provisioning Atlassian Cloud or Data Center environments, including Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket. - Experience building and operating self-service sandbox or demo environments with lifecycle management and synthetic or seeded data. - Strong background in infrastructure automation, scripting such as Python or Bash, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices. - Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration, including Docker and Kubernetes, as well as CI/CD tooling. - Experience taking existing tools or prototypes and preparing them for production, including code review, hosting, deployment, and support. - Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge bases for mixed audiences.
