About this role

Role overview

Serve as the senior hands-on quality engineering specialist across product teams, strengthening automated testing for a large, long-lived SaaS product. You’ll build and refine Playwright automation, resolve difficult reliability problems, and influence shared quality practices through technical guidance and mentoring. This is an individual contributor role rather than a people-management position.

Responsibilities - Develop and refactor critical UI and API automation with Playwright, and establish reusable patterns, standards, and quality gates across teams. - Investigate unstable test suites, slow CI pipelines, test data or environment problems, and regressions on critical paths. - Improve test data and environment approaches, including isolation, parallel execution, and fixtures, to make CI automation dependable. - Advise engineering and architecture partners on test layering, coverage, and which cases to automate across API, component, and end-to-end levels. - Mentor QA colleagues in Playwright, CI, and responsible AI-assisted testing workflows, including when human review is needed. - Partner with developers and DevOps on earlier testing, pipeline reliability, and maintainable containerized environments; communicate quality risks and trade-offs to leaders.

Requirements - At least 7 years in QA or test engineering, with experience evolving automation for substantial, long-running SaaS products. - Strong practical Playwright skills for UI and API testing, plus JavaScript/TypeScript and/or Python. - Regular use of AI-assisted development for test design, failure analysis, and coaching, with sound judgment about verification. - Ability to diagnose systemic quality issues involving parallelism, flaky tests, test data, and pipeline design. - Strong CI/CD experience and experience using Docker in cloud-hosted delivery. - Experience defining automation architecture and quality standards used across multiple teams, and strong English communication skills.

Benefits and work setup

The position is remote and offers an indefinite employment contract. Benefits include equity eligibility, 26 vacation days, monthly wellness days, paid volunteer time, private healthcare, life insurance, and monthly allowances for home office costs, meals, and fitness or other activities.
