About this role

Role overview

Data Annotation Analyst producing precise training and evaluation data for perception systems used by autonomous and operator-assisted machines. The work involves reviewing imagery, video, and LiDAR point clouds in specialized tools, applying detailed labeling standards, and balancing visual accuracy, consistency, and expected production volume across complex real-world scenes.

Responsibilities

- Label two-dimensional and three-dimensional objects such as vehicles, machinery, people, signs, terrain, and other environmental features. - Create and maintain segmentation, tracking, pose, and keypoint annotations across image and video sequences. - Apply class definitions, occlusion rules, object thresholds, and inclusion or exclusion criteria consistently. - Review completed work, address quality-assurance feedback, and maintain required accuracy and throughput. - Escalate ambiguous scenes, sensor artifacts, tooling problems, and unclear specifications instead of making unsupported assumptions. - Document data or tooling issues with clear explanations and reproducible details, while contributing to calibration sessions and guideline improvements.

Requirements

- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to sustain accurate, visually intensive work over extended periods. - Strong spatial reasoning, including the ability to interpret three-dimensional environments and judge object position, size, and orientation. - Ability to learn purpose-built annotation software and use keyboard shortcuts and other productivity features effectively. - Experience working in a fast-paced, scaled environment with defined quality, accuracy, or productivity targets. - Experience with image-annotation or generative-AI-assisted annotation workflows. - Reliable high-speed internet, a distraction-free workspace, and readiness to work on a company-provided computer in a controlled environment.

Nice to have

- Associate or bachelor’s degree. - Experience with image, video, LiDAR, 3D annotation, point clouds, sensor fusion, or camera-LiDAR calibration. - Background in surveying, GIS, subsurface utility engineering, AutoCAD, construction, mining, agriculture, industrial operations, heavy equipment, robotics, or autonomous-machine datasets.

Benefits and work setup

- The source lists compensation of $30–$32 per hour. - The role is supported by annotation tools, structured guidelines, quality feedback, calibration activities, and opportunities to build capability while working on AI data projects.
