About this role
Role overview Spend ten weeks as a paid remote intern gaining hands-on exposure to software development, cybersecurity, and data science inside a small government contracting business. The program blends mentoring, project work, lunch-and-learn sessions with leadership, and a final prototype demo, with optional in-person collaboration alongside the local team in Texas.
Responsibilities - Build custom software applications from idea through development and testing - Explore offensive and defensive cybersecurity techniques - Develop technology demonstrations using commercial cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure - Research competitor offerings and assess new application ideas - Prototype and present a working application to company leadership at the end of the internship
Requirements - U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain a government security clearance (sponsorship available for qualified candidates) - Computer science major with a targeted graduation date of May 2028 - Minimum 3.0 grade point average - Strong analytical and math skills with demonstrated teamwork - Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite - Excellent written and verbal communication, critical thinking, and self-management
Nice to have - Experience with group programming projects or Agile/Scrum processes - Proficiency in Java and Python - Front-end or back-end development experience - Familiarity with Node.js, Git, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud - Personal or hobby software projects
