Role overview A K–12 education company is hiring a NetSuite Developer to design, build, and maintain customizations, integrations, and automations on the NetSuite ERP platform. The role centers on SuiteScript development and connecting NetSuite with third-party systems, working alongside administrators, fellow developers, and product owners within an Agile team.
Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain custom NetSuite scripts (SuiteScript 1.0 and 2.0) and workflows aligned to business requirements. - Integrate NetSuite with external systems using SuiteTalk web services and RESTlet frameworks. - Improve existing third-party logistics (3PL) integrations and support ongoing API maintenance. - Promote development work across multiple environments following established deployment guidelines. - Lead code reviews focused on SuiteScript standards and mentor junior developers on script optimization. - Document technical specifications, system designs, and bug-fix details, while staying current on NetSuite platform updates.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. - At least 4 years of hands-on NetSuite development experience with demonstrated SuiteScript 1.0 and 2.0 expertise. - Solid understanding of ERP, CRM, and financial modules within NetSuite. - Strong computer science foundation, including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles. - Proficiency in JavaScript, APIs, SQL, and FreeMarker templates. - Familiarity with Agile software development practices and tools, plus a quality-focused, detail-oriented mindset.
Nice to have - Experience with JSON-based data exchange, GitHub or GitLab version control, and tools such as SuiteCloud Development Framework (SDF) or Salto. - Understanding of operational and financial business processes such as Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Revenue Recognition, and Inventory Management. - Background in the education or ed-tech industry, or an interest in mentoring and developing teammates.
