About this role

Role overview A healthcare-focused programming role sits within a research and evaluation team working to improve the quality, cost, and accessibility of healthcare. The position centers on applying programming and analytical skills to large administrative and claims datasets, particularly those tied to Medicaid policy and pharmacy data, in support of rigorous research, program monitoring, and technical assistance efforts.

Responsibilities - Extract, recode, merge, and de-duplicate complex healthcare datasets to prepare them for analysis. - Conduct outlier analyses, manage missing data, and construct derived analysis variables. - Perform statistical analyses and generate customized reports summarizing data findings. - Produce high-quality, computer-generated listings, summary tables, and data collection outputs. - Debug, document, and maintain code, programs, and technical specifications for analytical workflows. - Provide technical oversight, mentorship, and training to junior SAS programmers, and contribute to technical reports and proposal development.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, Economics, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative field. - Minimum of five years working with large-scale healthcare administrative or claims data. - Hands-on experience processing Medicare, Medicaid, or commercial claims data, plus familiarity with pharmaceutical pricing or prescription drug encounter sources. - Proficiency in SAS applied in research or analytical settings, plus working knowledge of SQL, Python, or R. - Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

Benefits and work setup Remote work within the United States is available, with flexibility to work from select U.S. office locations. Anticipated annual compensation falls within the range of $130,000 to $160,000 USD. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
