Role overview A Series A robotics startup is hiring a Solutions Engineer to support its sales organization in bringing AI-powered warehouse robotics to enterprise supply chains. The role sits at the intersection of technical discovery and commercial storytelling, partnering with sales leadership to shape the technical backbone of large, complex deals before any equipment is deployed. It is suited to someone who enjoys translating between engineers, operations leaders, and finance executives.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery with prospective and existing customers, clarifying requirements for warehouse robotics deployments through site visits and data validation. - Build customer-specific proposals and business cases that combine system design, requirements, ROI analysis, and timelines for both operations and finance audiences. - Scope solution components with vendors and engineering, covering items such as scan tunnels, input conveyance, grippers, and software integrations. - Define and execute customer- and application-specific test plans to prove out performance and economics. - Maintain executive-level presentations and proposal materials, and serve as a trusted technical advisor after close by sharing product updates and capturing customer and competitive intelligence. - Support MSA and contract negotiations alongside Engineering and Product to keep technical scope aligned with commercial terms.
Requirements
- 3+ years as a solutions engineer, sales engineer, or applications engineer in warehouse robotics, automation, or material handling, including direct experience writing statements of work and gathering requirements on site. - Track record supporting sales cycles with Tier 1 enterprise accounts (large retailers, carriers, and major 3PLs), either as the technical lead or paired with an Account Executive. - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field, with strong written and presentation skills for translating complex technical content for engineers and executives. - Experience building executive-level business cases and ROI models. - Familiarity with MSA and SOW structures, multi-site enterprise contracts, 2D CAD tools such as AutoCAD LT or BricsCAD, and strong Excel or Google Sheets proficiency.
Nice to have
- Experience specifying WCS or WMS integrations, knowledge of distribution center design and operational KPIs, or existing relationships with supply chain and automation leaders at large enterprise accounts. - A mindset of curiosity, eagerness to learn, and a desire for ownership and career growth.
