Application Architect - Remote from EU

Role overview

This senior application architect role focuses on designing integration and microservices architectures for a public-sector delivery stream. The position involves validating designs through market analysis and proof-of-concept work, then steering implementation and operations teams toward successful delivery without disrupting live services.

Responsibilities

- Conduct market analysis and proof-of-concept exercises to validate intended designs and select suitable technologies. - Follow up on approved designs with implementation and operations teams, providing expert guidance and clarifying open points. - Design integration architectures spanning cloud-native, microservices, and API-driven systems. - Document architecture decisions clearly with diagrams and present them to varied technical and business audiences. - Contribute to interoperability initiatives and alignment with relevant standards.

Requirements

- More than six years of ICT solution design experience, with a recent focus on integration and microservices architectures. - At least three years working with cloud-native technologies such as microservices, REST APIs, and message-oriented middleware. - At least three years designing and implementing solutions on cloud-native infrastructure, for example Kubernetes. - Participation in at least three systems integration projects. - Hands-on experience with container and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) on-premises and on Azure or AWS. - Strong grasp of security and access management best practices for cloud-native solutions. - Bachelor's or Master's degree, with a senior-level track record of 10+ years.

Nice to have

- Experience participating in EU Interoperability programmes. - Certifications in Kubernetes, Azure or AWS Cloud Architecture, or Agile methods.
