About this role
Role overview This senior engineering position focuses on extending AI-powered development tooling across a fast-moving engineering organization. The role blends hands-on coding with cross-team collaboration, designing agents, automations, and internal tools that lift engineer productivity while reducing friction in local environments and CI pipelines.
Responsibilities - Design and build AI agents, skills, and supporting infrastructure used throughout the software development lifecycle, including test generation, code review assistance, and CI feedback. - Track emerging AI capabilities and roll out changes that meaningfully improve developer productivity. - Partner with engineers across teams to shape and adopt AI-assisted workflows, driving adoption through usefulness rather than mandates. - Improve and modularize local development environments, reducing manual steps and slow feedback loops. - Speed up CI pipelines, improve test signal quality, and resolve common test performance issues. - Build internal tools that remove day-to-day friction for engineers and steadily widen the scope of work that can be handed off to automation.
Requirements - 6–8 years of hands-on software engineering experience with strong fundamentals. - Daily experience with agentic coding tools (such as Codex or Claude), including extending them via custom agents, skills, prompts, or MCP servers rather than only consuming them. - Proficiency in at least one general-purpose language such as Python or JavaScript/TypeScript. - Practical experience with Docker, local development environments, and CI systems. - Working knowledge of AWS and Postgres. - Familiarity with automated testing and test performance issues. - Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams in a fast-paced environment. - Must currently reside in Mexico and have the legal right to work there without sponsorship, now or in the future.
Nice to have - Experience building systems or internal tools that other engineers rely on as part of their daily workflow. - A track record of challenging existing workflows when they slow teams down, paired with the pragmatism to optimize for real improvements.
Benefits and work setup - Remote position based in Mexico, with optional access to a physical office in Mexico City for those who want an in-person space. - Bi-monthly payroll plus an annual company bonus. - 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage. - Parental leave program, Christmas bonus, and a generous vacation and holiday policy, including an additional vacation bonus. - Monthly work-from-home stipend and all necessary equipment provided (laptop, monitor, accessories). - Continuous learning support through mentorship, tech talks, and personalized career development sessions. - Recognition programs and a language immersion offering spanning multiple languages.
