Software Engineer II (MXC)
Job details
About this role
Role overview Join a full-stack engineering team building the software that organizations rely on during high-stakes moments: incident response tooling used to declare emergencies, gauge who is affected, assign work, and coordinate across teams when time is critical. The work is full-stack product engineering on a platform where reliability and graceful degradation under stress are non-negotiable. The team leans heavily on modern AI-assisted development practices, expecting engineers to weave those tools into their day-to-day workflow.
Responsibilities - Design, build, and ship features for an incident response product used live during active emergencies. - Engineer for failure as well as success, ensuring functionality degrades sensibly when upstream dependencies are slow or unavailable. - Develop primarily in JavaScript and Python, using Next.js, React, and Django alongside other modern web technologies. - Contribute inside a container-based, cloud-hosted architecture and participate in code review, testing, and continuous delivery practices. - Operate in an Agile environment with Git, JIRA, Jenkins, and collaboration tools, partnering closely with product, design, and other engineering groups. - Use AI coding assistants to move faster and raise the quality bar across the development lifecycle.
Requirements - Four to five years building scalable applications with MVC or event-driven frameworks such as Django or Next.js. - Hands-on experience with AWS and Linux-based container tooling like Docker or Kubernetes. - Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, Redis, or comparable data stores, plus a consistent habit of writing unit and integration tests. - Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related field preferred. - Comfort working across the full stack and collaborating with senior engineers on architecture decisions for a critical application. - Strong written and oral English, plus the organizational skills to manage parallel projects in a fast-paced setting.
Benefits and work setup - Remote role based in Mexico, with optional access to an office in the Mexico City Reforma area for in-person collaboration. - Bi-monthly payroll, an annual company bonus, an end-of-year bonus, and an additional vacation bonus. - One hundred percent employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus a parental leave program. - Monthly work-from-home stipend and all necessary equipment provided (laptop, monitor, accessories). - Generous vacation and holiday policy, a language immersion offering, and structured career development support.
