Job details
About this role
Role overview Build and refine gameplay for hybrid-casual mobile games, taking features from early prototypes through production, soft launch, and live iteration. The position pairs hands-on Unity development with technical leadership: shaping reusable systems, raising code standards, and helping a cross-functional team turn ideas into responsive, polished play experiences.
Responsibilities - Design, implement, test, and optimize gameplay systems, mechanics, controls, physics, cameras, and AI behaviors in Unity with C#. - Own scalable, modular gameplay architecture that can be reused across prototypes and titles. - Work with designers to rapidly turn concepts into playable builds, then refine them using playtest feedback and data. - Profile and improve performance, memory use, and stability across a range of mobile devices. - Lead debugging of complex issues, review code, and set programming standards and practices. - Mentor other programmers and collaborate with art, design, product, and engineering on feasibility, scope, visuals, and timelines.
Requirements - At least five years in mobile game development, including substantial hybrid-casual experience; Unity is required. - Expert C# skills and a strong grasp of gameplay systems, architecture, and design patterns. - At least four shipped mobile games, or comparable experience taking prototypes through launch. - Experience optimizing and profiling mobile games and independently owning complex features. - Experience with code review and mentoring, plus clear communication and collaborative working habits. - Ability to work to tight deadlines, respond to feedback, and contribute to soft launch, live operations, analytics, A/B testing, and data-informed iteration.
Nice to have - Experience creating Unity editor extensions, internal tools, or reusable frameworks. - Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools or workflows. - A portfolio, code repository, or shipped titles demonstrating relevant gameplay work.
