Role overview
This Forward Deployed Engineer position sits at the intersection of security engineering and field deployment, focused on integrating an autonomous vulnerability remediation platform into sensitive government, defense, and enterprise environments. The role blends hands-on coding with customer-facing technical ownership, operating inside air-gapped and high-security networks across the UK and EU. It is a high-autonomy hybrid position for engineers who can read and modify production code while translating complex security challenges into deployed solutions on the ground.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical deployment, configuration, and integration of an autonomous security platform into sovereign, air-gapped, and high-security enterprise networks. - Read and modify customer and platform codebases across languages such as C/C++, Rust, Go, and Python to support vulnerability identification, patch verification, and custom tooling integrations. - Act as the feedback bridge between field deployments and core engineering teams, translating operational edge cases into platform improvements. - Navigate complex authentication flows, cross-domain constraints, and compliance frameworks without sacrificing execution speed. - Build deep technical trust with customer engineering, SOC, and operational leadership as a subject matter expert in vulnerability management and automated defense.
Requirements
- An active UK SC/DV, EU Secret, NATO Secret, or equivalent national security clearance. - Production coding ability in at least one of Python, Go, Rust, or C/C++, paired with deep knowledge of core vulnerability classes including memory safety, logic flaws, and web or network attack surfaces. - Comfort operating around complex IT/OT/VPC architectures, air-gapped networks, Linux internals, and containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes. - Strong customer-facing communication skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly to both senior stakeholders and hands-on system administrators. - Mission-driven orientation toward national security, sovereign cyber defense, and technology that protects critical infrastructure and free societies.
