Role overview A senior engineering role focused on operating, supporting, and continuously improving enterprise applications within a Kubernetes-based platform. The position blends application engineering with DevOps, SRE, and platform engineering practices to drive reliability, automation, and delivery efficiency across critical systems.
Responsibilities - Operate, support, and enhance applications running in Kubernetes environments, ensuring stable deployments and day-to-day reliability. - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and software delivery workflows that streamline release cycles. - Manage Linux-based infrastructure and automate recurring operational tasks using scripting and configuration tools. - Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, and Helm for reproducible environments. - Support cloud-hosted workloads primarily in Microsoft Azure, including networking, identity, and resource configuration. - Monitor application performance, respond to incidents, and continuously improve platform reliability practices. - Collaborate with development, R&D, and cross-functional teams to remove friction and improve operational efficiency. - Champion ongoing improvements across DevOps, SRE, and platform engineering ways of working.
Requirements - 5+ years of experience in IT Application Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering roles. - Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker, including deployment and operational support. - Practical experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud environments. - Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps and/or Atlassian Bamboo. - Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, source code management, and artifact management. - Working knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, and Helm for infrastructure automation. - Linux administration skills paired with shell scripting expertise. - Experience with monitoring, alerting, and incident management practices.
Nice to have - Python scripting and automation skills. - Familiarity with JFrog Artifactory and SonarQube. - Knowledge of build and package ecosystems such as Maven, Gradle, MSBuild, NuGet, npm, or pip. - Experience integrating security tooling into CI/CD pipelines. - Background in commercial software engineering environments. - Agile delivery experience.
Benefits and work setup - Initial contract through 31 December 2026 on a full-time basis. - Freelance engagement accepting daily rate, limited company, umbrella, or sole trader structures. - Remote working across the EU, with occasional quarterly visits to a Veldhoven office. - Sponsorship is not provided.
