About this role
Role overview
A hybrid technical support and software development role focused on database connectivity within an open-source data integration platform. Requirements
- Hands-on development experience with Java and/or Kotlin in a production environment - Working knowledge of relational databases, warehouses, or data lakes, including CDC, schema evolution, and query optimization - Comfort with JDBC and debugging connection, authentication, SSL, and SSH tunnel issues - Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and ELT/ETL data integration concepts - Strong troubleshooting instincts and clear communication with both technical and non-technical audiences - Comfort with ambiguity, a self-starter attitude, and a growth mindset
Nice to have
- Direct experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or ClickHouse - Familiarity with open table formats such as Iceberg or Delta Lake, and cloud object storage - Prior contributions to open-source database connectors - Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, multi-tenant architectures, or CI/CD pipelines - Background supporting developer-facing, embedded, or platform products in B2B SaaS - Experience with AI-assisted development tools and automated playbooks
