Product Manager - Foundation Engineering

Role overview A Product Manager role owning the roadmap for observability and compute/network platforms within a foundation engineering organization. The position centers on internal infrastructure: defining how engineering teams monitor system health and run services on the underlying compute and networking substrate. It partners daily with engineering leadership and reports into developer platform product leadership.

Responsibilities - Own and evolve the roadmap for observability (metrics, logs, tracing, alerting, on-call tooling, SLOs) and compute/network platforms (provisioning, container orchestration, networking, security posture, capacity planning, cost) - Partner with engineering leads to balance reliability, security, developer experience, capacity, and cost, translating tradeoffs into sequenced investments - Define and track outcome metrics such as SLO attainment, time to detect/restore, self-service adoption, provisioning lead time, and infrastructure cost per unit - Drive a self-service agenda so instrumentation, dashboards, and provisioning are secure and policy-compliant by default - Coordinate with the security and risk team to translate requirements into roadmap priorities, including secure defaults, access controls, and auditability - Synthesize feedback from engineering teams through incident retrospectives, on-call surveys, and direct engagement - Communicate roadmaps, tradeoffs, and progress to platform leadership and cross-functional partners - Monitor industry trends in observability and compute/network tooling to inform build-vs-buy decisions

Requirements - Prior product management experience, ideally owning infrastructure-facing products such as observability, SRE tooling, cloud compute, or networking platforms - Demonstrated ability to define a roadmap and ship infrastructure capabilities, translating ambiguous reliability and operational signals into prioritized work - Experience driving platform adoption and self-service models across a large, distributed engineering organization - Experience partnering with globally distributed engineering teams across time zones - Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship

Benefits and work setup - Base salary range of $158,000–$248,000 USD, plus bonus, equity, and benefits, with market-based pay determined by role, skills, experience, and location
