ERM Records Management O365 SharePoint & Network Migration Engineer - TO37

Role overview This mid-level role drives enterprise records management and automation within a federal Microsoft 365 environment, blending Purview compliance work with hands-on scripting and SharePoint Online engineering. The engineer partners with records managers and analysts to modernize governance and streamline operational workflows.

Responsibilities - Implement Microsoft Purview Records Management policies, retention labels, and file plan configuration. - Deploy and tune trainable classifiers and content classification models, analyzing structured and unstructured data to support automated records classification. - Develop and maintain Python and PowerShell scripts for metadata extraction, data normalization and validation, reporting, audit preparation, and migration data preparation. - Build workflow automations using Power Automate and Microsoft Forms to streamline business processes. - Configure and manage SharePoint Online sites, libraries, permissions, and metadata to support compliant records storage. - Assist with content migration efforts, preserving records compliance and metadata integrity throughout the move. - Collaborate with records management stakeholders to translate governance requirements into technical configurations and document solutions.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience. - 3-6 years working with Microsoft 365 technologies, including Purview compliance portal experience with retention labels and records management. - Familiarity with machine learning-based classification concepts such as trainable classifiers, content models, and confidence scoring. - Strong scripting in Python (data manipulation, CSV/JSON handling, reporting) and PowerShell for M365 administration and automation. - Hands-on experience with Power Automate and with configuring SharePoint Online libraries, metadata, permissions, and modern pages. - Understanding of data governance and records management principles, plus experience with APIs, JSON, and data transformation. - U.S. citizenship and willingness to undergo a Top-Secret clearance investigation.

Nice to have - Direct experience implementing Microsoft Purview trainable classifiers. - Background supporting federal records management initiatives. - Familiarity with ShareGate or comparable migration tools. - Experience automating large-scale data analysis or migration preparation. - Microsoft certifications across Microsoft 365, Compliance, or Security tracks.
