Role overview Set the enterprise direction and operating practices for responsible, effective AI adoption. The role brings business and technical teams together to choose where AI can deliver value, establish clear governance and requirements, and give executives a reliable view of initiatives, outcomes, costs, and risks. Functional teams retain ownership of their workflows and delivery; this role provides the shared strategy, standards, and portfolio oversight that help them act consistently.
Responsibilities - Develop enterprise AI strategy and investment priorities, assessing organizational readiness and aligning choices with business goals, resources, and acceptable risk. - Work with teams to evaluate use cases by expected value, readiness, data needs, effort, cost, and risk; set success measures and recommend whether to fund, expand, change, or stop initiatives. - Establish governance, risk categories, review processes, approval criteria, and practical requirements for privacy, security, data use, human oversight, and AI evaluation. - Clarify ownership and decision handoffs across experiments, deployment, and retirement; document decisions and maintain a current view of tools, initiatives, owners, dependencies, investment, and risk. - Support employee adoption through role-specific training, practical resources, office hours, peer learning, and an AI champion network. - Guide tool choices and reusable capabilities with technical and control partners; prototype ideas, measure results and costs, and lead executive reviews with clear recommendations.
Requirements - At least 6 years of experience in AI, AI strategy, or technology strategy, including leadership of complex work across multiple teams. - Experience establishing enterprise AI or technology governance, standards, operating practices, or adoption programs. - Practical familiarity with large language models, retrieval, agents, workflow automation, AI evaluation, and AI-assisted development sufficient to prototype and assess solutions. - Ability to turn ambiguous business needs into prioritized requirements and deliver measurable operational or financial results. - Strong communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills; able to explain technical topics and build agreement without relying on direct authority. - Relevant governance credentials or equivalent hands-on experience implementing enterprise AI governance.
Nice to have - Experience in enterprise SaaS, government technology, or another regulated setting; collaboration with security, risk, or compliance teams; or experience building AI learning programs and internal champion networks.
Benefits and work setup - Remote position.
