About this role
Role overview
This is the first dedicated post-sales hire for a fast-growing new regional market, owning the full post-sales lifecycle across every customer segment. The position blends hands-on technical deployment of an enterprise email security platform with ongoing customer success ownership, starting at roughly 60-70% implementation and 30-40% account management. It is a deliberately builder-oriented role, expected to help shape how the region is staffed and supported as the customer base scales.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end technical deployment for new customers, from pre-sales handoff through go-live and hypercare, while managing a portfolio of concurrent implementation projects. - Run discovery to capture each customer's goals, success criteria, tech stack, and stakeholder map, then build and execute delivery plans with clear scope, schedule, and bilingual status reporting. - Configure and optimize email security integrations, including mail routing, filtering, and secure email gateway (SEG) replacement work across Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace environments. - Deliver product training, portal walkthroughs, and enablement sessions in Japanese so customer teams are self-sufficient after launch. - Own adoption, value realization, and renewal outcomes for a portfolio of accounts, developing success plans that surface and mitigate risk before it affects satisfaction. - Serve as the internal advocate for regional market needs, contributing Japanese-language playbooks and translating customer feedback into prioritized product and localization input for global teams.
Requirements
- Native or fully fluent Japanese plus professional written and verbal English, with the ability to run technical implementations and executive business reviews in Japanese and represent the region credibly to global teams in English. - Based in Japan with the right to work there, and comfortable being the first and, for now, only person operating in this market. - 5+ years in a customer-facing role at an enterprise SaaS company, with substantive experience on both sides of post-sales: implementation or professional services, and ongoing customer success or technical account management. - Demonstrated track record delivering enterprise-grade cybersecurity or security-adjacent SaaS implementations, including projects involving the integration or migration of enterprise mail flow systems. - Strong grasp of email security fundamentals (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, SMTP, MX records, mail routing, commercial filtering and SEG solutions) and networking or SaaS integration patterns, with hands-on Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace experience. - Proven ability to manage projects end-to-end, coordinate across functions, and build long-term relationships at the executive level; proficiency with CRM and case management tooling such as Salesforce and Jira; bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
- Prior experience as a founding or first post-sales hire in a new market, or standing up a regional practice. - Familiarity with customer success platforms such as Gainsight or comparable tooling. - Log data analysis experience using a SIEM or similar tool. - API or integration experience, with Python or Java familiarity. - Experience selling or delivering into Japanese enterprises through a channel or distribution partner model. - Additional APAC language capability.
