Senior Data Scientist - Portfolio

Role overview As a senior data scientist, you’ll develop and bring machine learning solutions into production for problems such as portfolio optimization, recommendations, forecasting, personalization, and customer segmentation. You’ll work across applied science, engineering, product, and business teams, helping shape technical approaches and supporting the growth of other data scientists.

Responsibilities - Design and deploy machine learning and statistical models that address business needs, with attention to reliability, scale, and measurable impact. - Explore and apply advances in machine learning and deep learning to complex problems. - Build and improve large-scale data processing workflows using cloud and distributed computing platforms. - Develop dependable data pipelines and modeling workflows, adding automation and reusable components. - Turn stakeholder needs into technical requirements and deliver solutions through iterative collaboration. - Mentor junior and mid-level data scientists and share sound engineering practices.

Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, or computer science; a master’s degree is preferred and a doctorate is a plus. - Demonstrated experience applying machine learning and statistical modeling in production to deliver business impact. - Strong Python skills for analysis, modeling, and production workflows; familiarity with Spark or PySpark is beneficial. - Experience with experimentation, model validation, and rigorous evaluation. - Familiarity with version control, CI/CD, and reproducible development workflows. - Ability to communicate complex models and results clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences. - Thoughtful use of AI coding tools, balancing development speed with production quality.
