Senior Back End Engineer

Role overview A senior back-end engineering role on the team building a Business Planning platform that helps finance teams automate reporting, forecasting, and collaborative planning. The platform tackles complex, multi-dimensional real-time calculations at meaningful scale, and the engineering culture emphasizes ownership, rapid experimentation, and direct product impact for a globally distributed user base.

Responsibilities - Collaborate with engineers, product designers, and product managers to design, prototype, and ship new capabilities. - Build performant, reusable back-end services and APIs that power user-driven data modeling, custom formulas, and complex visualizations. - Take operational responsibility for the services you build, including reliability, observability, and on-call health. - Help scale a complex data and calculations platform as customer count, data volume, and modeling complexity grow. - Incorporate customer feedback with the operations team to continuously improve platform behavior and performance.

Requirements - Strong experience with Python, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes in production environments. - Solid grasp of complex data structures and performance engineering, with comfort working through observability tooling. - Product mindset and a team-oriented approach to solving ambiguous, cross-functional problems. - Track record of working in agile, data-driven environments with iterative delivery.

Nice to have - Hands-on experience with Pandas, Polars, or comparable DataFrame-style technologies. - Background building machine learning or AI-powered product features. - Prior experience scaling complex data or analytics platforms.
