Role overview
Own the product direction for an energy management system that coordinates solar generation, batteries, heat pumps, air conditioning, and electric-vehicle charging as one integrated household system. You will shape the roadmap across markets, balance customer value with technical reliability, and provide a shared foundation for related energy, heating, cooling, and mobility products.
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the product strategy and roadmap for the energy management system across multiple markets. - Set direction for connected product areas, align roadmaps, guide other product managers, and remove delivery obstacles. - Make reliability, operational scale, and dependable household performance explicit product outcomes. - Expand the system’s ability to control and optimize household assets, increasing the value created from available energy. - Work closely with engineering on protocols, fleet operations, data pipelines, and system quality. - Lead discovery, write specifications, prioritize work, and support products through delivery.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of product management experience with energy management systems, IoT, embedded or edge products, or comparable control systems. - Experience owning a foundational system that multiple product areas depend on and deciding its future direction. - Background in shipping reliable, scalable products rather than focusing only on new features. - Experience coaching or guiding other product managers; people management is useful but not required. - Technical depth sufficient to discuss protocols, fleet operations, and data infrastructure with engineers. - Excellent English, with German as an advantage; based in Germany.
Nice to have
- Experience with home energy management, inverter, battery, or EV control; Modbus, over-the-air updates, or gateway security. - Knowledge of optimization, forecasting, or dispatch systems. - Experience delivering an energy management system across more than one country. - Previous line management of product managers.
