(Senior) Product Manager Energy (m/f/d)

Role overview

Lead the product domain that enables households to participate in energy markets through dynamic energy products, market access, and flexibility services. You will own the software roadmap, translate market and regulatory requirements into products, and coordinate engineering, operations, and product teams as offerings expand from Germany into additional European markets.

Responsibilities

- Own the Energy software strategy and roadmap, deciding what engineering builds and in which sequence. - Work closely with development teams from discovery through delivery and maintain a high standard for shipped product quality. - Set domain direction, align roadmaps across product managers, provide guidance, and remove blockers. - Partner with operations to ensure energy products are commercially valuable and practical to run. - Shape products involving direct marketing, flexibility, procurement, market participation, and customer activation. - Convert energy-market and regulatory realities into clear requirements across Germany and future markets. - Define product-health measures such as procurement quality, participation, activation, and service-level performance.

Requirements

- At least 7 years of product management experience in energy, utilities, or a similarly regulated software environment. - A record of owning a product domain spanning several teams and setting its strategic direction. - Experience guiding other product managers; formal line management is an advantage but not essential. - Strong understanding of energy markets, tariffs, energy retail, or energy trading. - Experience managing a software roadmap with engineering teams in a regulated context. - Comfort working with unit economics and product metrics. - Excellent English; German is an advantage. Based in Germany or willing to relocate.

Nice to have

- Knowledge of flexibility and balancing markets, virtual power plants, scheduling, or transmission and distribution system operators. - Familiarity with energy regulation in Germany or other European markets. - Experience connecting optimization or dispatch systems with market products. - Previous line management of product managers.
