About this role

Role overview

Manage a senior engineering team responsible for core systems in a continuously evolving, cross-platform game. The work spans gameplay features, competitive modes, real-time physics, and controller-supported experiences, combining people leadership with technical direction from early design through live operation.

Responsibilities - Manage, coach, hire, and support a team of six to eight engineers, including career and performance development. - Guide C++ gameplay architecture, maintainability, memory use, and performance across desktop, mobile, and Apple TV. - Own the health of shipped features, using automated tests, feature flags, staged rollouts, and telemetry to support safe iteration. - Set team roadmaps, manage requests and dependencies, remove blockers, and communicate delivery status and risks. - Align engineering with game design, product, production, UX, QA, and hardware partners on technical direction and milestones. - Run agile planning and delivery practices that help the team ship reliably without sustained crunch.

Requirements - At least four years in an engineering management or technical leadership role, with direct experience managing and growing engineers in games. - At least six years of hands-on game development experience and strong C++ skills. - Experience with game profiling, memory management, performance, and multi-platform architecture. - Experience operating features in a live-service game, including monitoring, staged releases, feature flags, and production support. - Ability to define technical strategy and roadmaps amid ambiguity and cross-team dependencies. - Experience using agile practices to manage delivery risks and release schedules.

Nice to have

Experience with game clients and backend services, console development, external controllers, live-game experiments and analytics, or AI-assisted development practices. Interest in products for active cycling and running communities is also valued.
