Manager, MDR & Threat Hunting

Role overview

This remote, US-based leadership role manages a customer-facing team of elite threat hunters and managed detection and response specialists. The position balances operational excellence with executive-level customer relationships, translating complex threat intelligence into clear business value. Impact is measured by both the quality of hunts and investigations and by the trust and retention built across the customer base.

Responsibilities

- Build, lead, and continuously develop a high-performing team of threat hunters and MDR specialists, including recruiting and ongoing accountability - Own the full talent lifecycle from technical skill development and candid performance feedback to defined career ladders that retain top performers - Serve as senior escalation point for customer security teams, including CISOs, Directors, and SOC Leads, during active intrusions, complex investigations, hunts, and critical service issues - Manage recurring tactical and strategic customer engagements that turn threat activity, policy posture, and attack surface risk into actionable guidance - Define and challenge the quality bar for all MDR and Threat Hunting deliverables, driving continuous improvement based on customer feedback and hunt outcomes

Requirements

- Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience applying them within security domains - Strong knowledge of threat actor TTPs aligned with the MITRE ATT&CK framework and detection or response practices - Demonstrated success leading customer-facing security teams, ideally in MDR or threat hunting - Executive-level communication skills, including direct engagement with CISOs and security leadership - Track record of operating with urgency, ownership, and a bias for action - Ability to move seamlessly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution
