Staff Platform Engineer

Role overview A hands-on Staff Platform Engineer role shaping the internal platform and delivery foundations used by both human engineers and AI coding agents. The work combines platform engineering, developer experience, and secure delivery into a single discipline, often called AI harness engineering, where the fundamentals of CI/CD, testing, infrastructure as code, observability, and security are made solid enough that agents can operate productively inside them.

Responsibilities - Shape the platform, infrastructure, and shared foundations that product teams build on, including CI/CD pipelines, local development environments, deployment workflows, and production feedback loops. - Define and drive standards around automated testing, infrastructure as code, observability, and secure delivery, and help product teams adopt them. - Build shared tooling, templates, and golden paths that create leverage and give teams paved roads they actually want to follow. - Own secure delivery end to end, unifying security scanning, secrets management, dependency and supply chain controls, and penetration testing workflows into the core pipeline so secure-by-default is the path of least resistance. - Shape repositories, tooling, and conventions so AI coding agents can navigate them efficiently, with clear structure, good test signal, fast feedback loops, well-scoped contexts, and agent-friendly documentation. - Measure impact using DORA metrics and qualitative feedback from engineering teams.

Requirements - Strong software engineering background with experience designing and building internal platforms, including the judgment to decide what to abstract, what to expose, and what to leave alone. - Deep experience with CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure as code, and developer tooling. - Strong grasp of modern software security and secure delivery practices, including shift-left and SecDevOps approaches. - A product mindset toward internal tooling, treating engineers and agents as users and measuring whether the platform actually makes them faster. - Real fluency with AI coding agents, including how they work, where they fail, and what makes them effective.

Nice to have - Experience scaling end-to-end test frameworks such as Playwright across an organization.
