Director of Engineering - Platform & Integrations

Role overview Lead the Enterprise Platform and Integrations team as Director of Engineering, owning the people, platforms, and delivery practices that power external partner integrations. The role blends engineering leadership with hands-on API and integration strategy, shaping a platform that connects partner experiences to formation, compliance, pricing, and fulfillment capabilities.

Responsibilities - Lead, coach, and develop a pod of engineers supporting Platform APIs and partner integrations, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning. - Establish effective engineering practices for planning, design reviews, code reviews, testing, deployment, documentation, and production support. - Define the technical vision and roadmap for enterprise APIs, including schemas, webhooks, authentication, fulfillment packages, versioning, and developer tools. - Represent the organization in senior-level technical conversations with strategic partners, guiding them through solution design, testing, and launch readiness. - Lead through influence across engineering teams whose systems contribute to the end-to-end partner experience, resolving cross-team dependencies and clarifying ownership. - Evolve core business capabilities so they can be safely discovered and invoked by AI agents through emerging standards, with clear authorization, observability, guardrails, and human oversight.

Requirements - Significant experience leading software engineering teams, including managing engineering managers and senior engineers. - Experience designing, building, or operating external APIs and enterprise integration platforms, with strong knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, event-driven architecture, authentication, API gateways, versioning, and integration security. - Track record delivering complex integrations involving multiple internal systems and external partners. - Strong understanding of software delivery, testing, observability, incident management, and production operations. - Experience participating in partner-facing technical conversations and translating business needs into scalable technical solutions. - Familiarity with developer portals, integration sandboxes, API documentation, SDKs, schema-driven platforms, and API lifecycle management.
